Carbon Emissions Inventory
A carbon emissions inventory determines the total amount of carbon and other greenhouse gases that are emitted into the atmosphere as a result of an activity or process. This is commonly referred to as a carbon footprint. The amount of greenhouse gases emitted is expressed in terms of carbon dioxide equivalents (CO2-e). A more complex type of carbon footprint is a life cycle assessment (LCA) which takes into account emissions of greenhouse gases over a product's "life cycle" from raw materials through to the end product and disposal. Within this GHG package, a LCA would be conducted in accordance with ISO 14040 standards and the Greenhouse Friendly Scheme. All carbon footprints need to consider energy consumption (electricity, fuel and gas), transport and travel, waste and recycling, consumables and chemicals. The final report would provide your business' carbon footprint, recommendations on how to reduce this footprint and options to offset your emissions.
Energy Audit
Energy consumption would account for a significant portion of greenhouse gas emissions released by your company. Energy audits account the total amount of energy used by your business and would determine where most energy is used and provide recommendations to improve energy efficiencies - saving both the environment and your bottom line. Audits would be conducted in accordance with Australian Standard AS/NZS 3598:2000.
Verification Audit
Benbow Environmental can act as an independent third party to review carbon footprints, life cycle assessments or other greenhouse gas assessments conducted in-house or by an external consultant. This audit would ensure your greenhouse gas assessments have been conducted in accordance with relevant legislation, standards and guidelines and verify assessment results.
Cleaner Production Assessment
A cleaner production assessment identifies opportunities to reduce waste and pollution that increase business productivity and efficiency. Benbow Environmental prefers a pragmatic approach involving establishment of an on-site cleaner production team that includes site personnel to assist our consultants in providing a meaningful assessment. A cleaner production assessment would involve data collection, site inspections and analysis of data to identify process inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement. Feasibility studies would identify potential savings and a site specific action plan would be developed.
Emissions Trading
