Benbow Environmental are supporting Earth Hour again in 2009. On Saturday 28th March 2009, business and individuals will turn off their lights for an hour to send a powerful message to the world that we are serious about global warming.

The organisers of Earth hour are encouraging individuals to use their "light switch as their vote - Switch off your lights is a vote for Earth, or leaving them on is a vote for global warming." BE will be voting "EARTH" by signing up as a business, encouraging our employees to sign up as individuals and our clients to sign up their businesses. We will host our own earth hour on Friday 27th March from 12-1pm by turning off our office lights. Which way will you vote?

The Australian Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme (CPRS) will finally come to fruition in July 2010. Everyone seems to have an opinion on climate change, and whether you believe developing emissions trading scheme is the right move, the reality of the present situation is that the CPRS will affect all Australians, from large corporations to every indivual. ‘A Day On The Green’ is a series of outdoor concert events, staged in wineries around Australia and more recently New Zealand, and has been dubbed "The Big Day Out for grown ups" by the media. ‘A Day On The Green’ has been the forerunner in offering a quality music experience to music and wine aficionados and has presented 130 shows for 800,000 patrons since their inception in 2001 .

The key deliverables of this large-scale project was defined by BE’s commitment to represent both the promoters and the community by achieving a harmonious balance between the client’s requirements and the community’s expectations in the event of an outdoor concert. BE’s acoustical consultants are equipped with audio engineering knowledge as well as acoustical consulting expertise which enables them to closely liaise with the production team on-site. This means strategically optimising the site layout and sound levels to provide a quality audio experience for the patrons, whilst meeting the project noise criteria. BE’s methodologies, including community involvement, has proved to be effective in augmenting the community’s awareness of outdoor events within their vicinity. The outcome of this holistic approach is a positive and rewarding one where the patrons, promoters and the community as a whole can appreciate and understand the purpose of such an event.

BE’s past and future projects encompass innovative strategies at the forefront of modern day acoustics involving forward thinking and social cohesion. Waverley Council, Mixed Industry (Shore Thing, Bondi Beach 2008) and most recently Centennial Parklands Trust (Good Vibrations 2009), has appointed BE to provide exclusive acoustical consultancy services for their popular events.

Benbow Environmental will be introducing our new Carbon Engineering and Greenhouse Gas Management service area at the GreenTECH show. Our consultants will be available at the stand to discuss our new services including carbon footprints, life cycle assessment and GHG management systems. You can also pick up a FREE GHG Package containing useful information on climate change and the way it could affect your business as well as a basic training module for in-house staff awareness training!

GreenTECH is the 3^rd Australian International Green Build, Design and Technology show with a focus on green building, sustainable design and clean technology.

As our office is closed on weekends, we will host our own earth hour on Friday 28th March from 12-1pm by turning off our office lights.
